Kimchi & Chaos: Korean BBQ Lil’ Smokies

Growing up, one of my favorite things my dad made was his BBQ lil’ smokies. They were sure to be at any family gathering, football game day, or graduation party. To celebrate Father’s Day, I’ve decided to share a Korean version of my dad’s classic appetizer.

Recipe:

Ingredients

1 pound package of all beef lil’ smokies

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon gochugaru

1 teaspoon gochujang

1/3 cup soy sauce

Directions

Combine all ingredients except the smokies in a small saucepan. Heat until brown sugar is melted and all ingredients are incorporated. Mix in smokies. Allow all ingredients to simmer for 5-7 minutes. Serve warm.
